Following overwhelming demand (translation: two people intimated that it might be a nice idea), I've compiled a summary of my favourite albums of 2009.
It's the first time I've done such a thing. I've restricted myself to 30, they're not in any list order and SHOCKINGLY several didn't make it into this site's Very Democratically Arrived At Top 50 Albums Of 2009, made up of our writers' votes. (The Top Three of that list goes live later today, by the way.)
I'm not commenting on who made the biggest breakthrough, whose album was the most artistically groundbreaking, who was written about most or even whose work I think you should buy. I'm not trying to evenly balance between synths and guitars, Europe and America or indie and major. It's just what I've liked.
